Can I reset a forgotten vault lock?
No. Hush doesn't have a password reset or recovery service, and we don't receive your vault keys or lock secrets. Every configured lock is needed in its chosen order, unless Face ID is enabled.
If Face ID still opens your vault, restore or share out the photos you want to keep. Changing the vault's locks requires the original secrets.
What happens if I delete Hush or replace my iPhone?
The vault is stored only on this iPhone, is excluded from device backups, and doesn't sync to iCloud. Deleting the app deletes its vault. Before removing Hush or replacing your device, restore photos to Photos or share them to a destination you control.
Don't uninstall the app as a troubleshooting step while it contains photos you need.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open Vault → Locks → Unlock Hush → Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the purchase and connect to the internet.
The one-time unlock removes the free vault's 30-photo limit. Cleanup has no usage cap, with or without the purchase.
Why can't I see all my photos?
Check Hush's Photos permission in iPhone Settings. Limited access shows only the photos you've selected. Allow full access if you want to review the whole photo library.
Hush currently supports photos, including screenshots and selfies. It doesn't import videos into the vault.
Does hiding a photo remove it from Photos?
Hush copies the photo into the vault first, then lets you choose whether to delete the original from Photos. Deleting the original requires Apple's confirmation.
Photos originals can remain in Photos' Recently Deleted album for 30 days. Manage that album in Photos if you want to remove those copies sooner.
Can I recover a deleted photo?
A photo deleted from your library goes to Recently Deleted in Photos. A photo deleted from Hush's vault goes to the vault's own Recently Deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days.
The vault removes expired items the next time you open it. Deleting the app removes the vault and its Recently Deleted items.
How does Face ID work with my other locks?
Face ID is off by default. If you enable it in Locks, Face ID alone can open your vault and skips the other locks. Changing the faces enrolled on your iPhone disables that copy of the vault key, so you'll need your original locks again.
Why did cleanup skip some photos?
Duplicate scanning doesn't download photos stored only in iCloud and shows how many it skipped. Poor-shot and document detection depend on Apple's on-device Vision models. Results may differ between a physical iPhone and a simulator.
You review the suggested changes before confirming deletions.
Does my vault have an online backup?
No. Hush doesn't upload vault photos to a server or include them in device backups. Photos you restore to Photos follow your own Photos and iCloud settings.
